Dr. Rebecca Small is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Cambridge University, England. She completed her advanced aesthetics training at the Chernoff Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, a renowned laser testing center and a U.S. national Botox training center.
Today Dr. Small is a family physician specializing in cosmetic enhancement and wellness medicine. She is also the Medical Director for Monterey Bay Laser Aesthetics in Capitola, California.
In addition to her practice, Dr. Small is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine and is the Director for the UCSF Medical Aesthetic Training Program where she trains family medicine residents in Botox®, dermal fillers and laser procedures. Dr. Small also lectures and trains physicians nationally with the MedSpa Training Institute and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

As a recognized authority on medical aesthetic treatments, Dr. Small is the co-author of several medical texts, including authoring the aesthetic chapters in the new edition of the Atlas of Primary Care Procedures, the upcoming Dermatology and Cosmetic Procedures in Office Practice and A Practical Guide to Modern Procedures in Primary Care: Botox and Beyond. She has also recently completed writing a book for the wider public on medical aesthetic procedures.
Dr. Small has a private family medicine practice in Northern California that focuses on wellness and aesthetic enhancement. Since 2003, she has successfully incorporated medical aesthetic procedures in her own practice in addition to bringing these procedures into spa facilities in the Monterey Bay area in California.
